About Our LTC Classes
My classes range from small private classes to larger group public classes. It does not matter what size the class is, I make time for personal attention to all students and allow plenty of opportunities to answer all your questions. I use a PowerPoint presentation that follows the student handbook you are given. I also use videos and demonstrations designed to make your learning experience enjoyable as I familiarize you with all aspects involving handguns and Licensed Carry in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Interaction and discussions are encouraged but never pressured.
Based on over 30 years of law enforcement experience ranging from the Military to the Dallas Police Department and to the United States Marshals Service, I have designed this class to ensure that you are provided with not only the course requirements as mandated by the State of Texas but also to make sure you leave with a comfortable knowledge of the Laws and lifestyle of the Licensed Handgun carrier.
The classroom portion of LTC Class is 4 – 6 hours as mandated by DPS and covers the following areas:
1. Weapons Law
2. Use of Force
3. Handgun Use and Safety
4. Situational Awareness and Nonviolent Dispute Resolution
5. Handgun Storage Practices
A short 25 question quiz follows. 70% is required to pass.
The Range consists of shooting from 3 different stages and they are:
1. 3 yards 20 rounds
2. 7 yards 20 rounds
3. 15 yards 10 rounds
A minimum passing score of 175 is required which is 70%. If a student does not achieve 70%, then a re-shoot will be done right then.
